Three's a Charm

As in three days off work. I took today off. My employer gives us what they call "bank of hours". This is time off that they give us to do with whatever we want. We get 40 hours of paid and 46 hours of unpaid bank per year, so I decided to take a day today.

It was cold and rainy when I got up this morning which made my decision to take the day off that much sweeter. I did linger around in bed with the window above my head slightly cracked. I love the sound and smell of rain, so I dozed there for a while just soaking it in. I could hear The View in the background, but didn't open my eyes to look at the TV. I got up and had some coffee over my e-mail . I decided that Jim needed to get out of the house, so I shoved him off to take a shower and get ready to go while I did a little housework. It takes him a while to get ready to go out, because he's very slow yet. By the time he's totally ready to go, I'm ready as well.

We headed off to town and I had forgotten how much traffic there is on Fridays...ALL day...not just during the peak times and I was....as usual....really annoyed by it. We went to Wally World and I was amazed at how short they were of produce and some other items. Everything was really picked over, but I did manage to get everything on my list. I found some really great fabric remnants for $.75 each and also bought some tulle for my strawberry and other style pin cushions. I'm having so much fun with those. I want to post pictures of the fabrics, but they're in the laundry right now. I always wash my fabrics before I make things. I'll try and post some tomorrow.

Normally on the weekends, I spend a lot of time cleaning and cooking, but this weekend, I'm going to spend the majority of it crafting. I really need to get my Etsy shop stocked up and I don't feel I have enough stuff to open up just yet. The holidays are coming and I don't want to miss out on that. Time has been so hard to come by this year, so I guess I have to make time and let some other things go. Jim tells me that I need to learn to delegate more and he may have a point.

So, I'll chime in tomorrow in between my projects and such.

Cheers!
