Creepin' Crud

Yep, I got it. What I call the "creepin' crud". It started off with a few sniffles and a little sneezing and now it's become a full blown sinus infection and has also spread to my chest. Every year when I turn on that blasted furnace, all that dry heat just tears me up. And I don't care what they say....exposure to cold weather and dampness can make you sick. They say it has nothing to do with it, but personal experience makes me beg to differ. My humidifier gave up the ghost as well, so I'm off to the store in a while to get a new one. The sucky part is that I had to work all last week feeling like this, but today, IT'S WAR. I'm going to get some cold remedies, chicken soup, a humidifier and nip this thing in the bud.

Lookie what I found! I was cleaning out my office closet and found this frame that I had forgotten all about. I listed it on eBay last year and it was purchased, but the woman never paid me. That was around the same time that I got disgusted with all the fees that eBay and PayPal (on in the same) were raking me for and I stopped listing and never brought this back out of the closet until this weekend. I'm going to put it in my LolliShop. I'd love to hear what you think of it first though. Listings at LolliShops are a bit more pricey than Etsy, so I need to choose my listings carefully and not list anything that's mundane or iffy.

This frame is a good size and for an 8 X 10 Picture. It's vintage Syroco or something like it ...Maybe Homco/Home Interiors....and pretty sturdy and substantial. I LOVE the ornate style of this frame and the Oval cut out is so cool. There is glass in it and it was hard to photograph this without glare, so that's why the picture was taken at sort of at a funny angle and not straight on.

I painted the picture that is in in and you can leave it in , or take it out to add your own photo. I think it's really pretty! The back is painted a solid Paris pink and there are several ways to use this. Vertically, horizontally on a table, or on the wall.

As to Mel's comment about my ticker, yes, the baby is due in just 27 days! I am so excited, I can hardly stand it! The doctors say that the baby is larger than expected and it's quite possible that they're about two weeks off on their predicted due date, so really....it's any day now. We were just talking about how fun it would be if the baby came on Christmas. I will let you all know when he gets here and I'll post pictures for sure!

As I'm sure it is with everyone, money is tight this year and we are scaling way back. We all talked about it as a family and decided we're going to have a "handmade" Christmas. Everyone is required to make their gifts this year.

Here's an example. I made these little accessories sets for my sister-in-law and her roommate. They were simple and fun to do and I think they make such cute gifts! There's a checkbook cover, a travel tissue cover and a coin purse.

This is really fun and everyone seemed so excited about the idea. We're all tired of the commercialism of Christmas and the marketing ploys that often keep people in credit card debt the whole year just to pay off what they bought for Christmas. We all decided that we're not doing that anymore! Every one of us has a talent of some sort and we're all going to put them to use. We'll spend the holidays eating too much, talking over old times and celebrating what this holiday is all about.

As many of you know, this has been a year filled with troubles for me and my family. A lot of losses and devastating illness, but in the end, as I've said all along, there were many blessings among the ruins and I thank the dear Lord that we were able to find them.

So, that's it for now. I'm working on a handbag that will be made out of a lovely vintage , Cherokee denim jacket. That's all I'm telling you for now!

Cheers!
