A Little Drawing and a Chilly Weekend

It’s about time..is all I can say.  We are finally having some fall like weather and not the dry, 80 degree days we’ve been having.  It was only in the 50’s today and rainy.  I LOVED it.  I snuggled up in front of the TV for most of the day and did a little drawing.  I haven’t drawn on paper in ages, so it was fun.  I like colored pencils.  I did this bird, the sunflowers and the photo corners.  It needs work, I know.  Practice makes perfect, I guess.  I’ve spent so many years drawing digitally, which is way more forgiving with the “undo” feature.  I way out of practice drawing the old fashioned way.  I’ll work on my technique a little more, but I rather like this imperfect look.

Saturday,  my daughter and I went on a shopping spree.  I worked  50 hours last week and got a really great paycheck.  Plus, there are 5 pay periods this month, so my wallet was a bit fatter this time!

We went to….

ross

which is one of our favorite stores for great labels at great prices.  I got two pair of Levis for my daughter and only paid $10 each.  We found some cute jackets too.  I had to pry myself away or I would have spent the whole budget there and we had a couple of  other places to go like…

gordmans

which is another great discount store.  They sell Kathy Van Zeeland bags there and Caty loves those.

We had lunch at…

chilis

They have the best Chicken Caesar Salad that I always get and Caty loves their Honey Chicken Chipotle Crispers.

I spent about $500.00, but it was so worth it.  You know how you put off buying things for yourself?  Even important things like UNDERWEAR?  That’s what I was doing.  I got so caught up in doing for others that I lost sight of the fact that most every article of my everyday clothing was OLD and falling apart.  I haven’t had a haircut in 3 or 4 months and I’m doing that this coming weekend.  My oldest son gets after me, because I let myself go sometimes and he thinks I should quit my job, because he says it’s too hard on me physically.  I can’t talk about it right now, but that may be a serious possibility early next year.

What did you do this weekend?
